We are the organization willing to help you improve as a Storyteller. The Blacksmith Cinema Act is the program that can help you financially submit your film. Get your story known, promote your work, and get full access of perks, discounts, prizes, grants, and more.
Blacksmith Cinema Act’s General Operation Rules
The Blacksmith Cinema Act is a program sponsored by International Film Operations, and there are important steps and rules to follow strictly.
1. The program was created to support international filmmakers only.
2. We accept short films only, NOT feature.
3. We only accept one film per fest or submission
4. The Blacksmith Cinema Act and its affiliates reserve the right to determine the eligibility of any film submitted.
5. We accept films that were submitted in other festivals or in process of submission.
6. *VERY IMPORTANT*
Foreign (other than English) language films to be submitted with "English Subtitles," unless IFO premieres the competition in the selected country.
7. The Blacksmith Cinema Act and its affiliates will not own the rights of any filmmaker's film.
8. *VERY IMPORTANT*
The Blacksmith Cinema Act and its affiliates WILL NOT be responsible for any involvement of unsettled trademarked or copyrighted materials in your project. It is the sole responsibility of the entity submitting the project to secure permission from the trademark or copyright holders of the material in question, whether it is music, stock footage, or any other elements that could violate an existing trademark or copyright.
9. *VERY IMPORTANT*
The Blacksmith Cinema Act requires to have proof in *writing or similar format of copyrighted materials in your film. We require to have music, stock footage, trademark, or any other elements that does not belongs to you, for us to grant or discount cost of access of your film. "NO exceptions"
10. The Blacksmith Cinema Act and its affiliates does not accept films that focus in propaganda, pornography, hate speech, or promote violence.
11. *VERY IMPORTANT*
Participants must complete all forms and questionnaires required.
12. Submission fees are not refundable, even if you did not qualify the full grant or other promotions included with it.

14. The Blacksmith Cinema Act and its affiliates reserve the right to make changes at any time during the program, including rules, regulations, terms, conditions, dates, locations, calendars, awards, and etc.
15. The Blacksmith Cinema Act and its affiliates reserve the right to make changes to festival affairs without notice or with short notice. It is solely the responsibility of International filmmakers to check any updates.
16. International filmmakers must be respectful to the program, and its affiliates, members, sponsors, and volunteers; We will NOT tolerate any disrespectful act of any kind to the organization, keep it professional.
17. By you applying to the Blacksmith Cinema Act and its affiliates, you give us full access or right to use your film, samples, images, trailers, posters, and any other form of media of the International Filmmaker’s content, as long as the Blacksmith Act and affiliates need it for promotional use.
18. *VERY IMPORTANT*
The Blacksmith Cinema Act and its affiliates reserves the right at any moment during the program or before, to request PROOF of submitted International films into the program. We will ask for proof of pre-production, production, and post-production. As well we will ask for releases like, locations, contracts, digital data, references, or any other element that proof that your film is considered as an international film to be in the program.
19. *VERY IMPORTANT*
The Blacksmith Cinema Act and its affiliates do not guarantee that your film will be fully granted, or receive discounts, perks, or others. Even if you submitted the application, we reserve the right to denied if it did not follow the rules or standards.
20. *VERY IMPORTANT*
The Blacksmith Cinema Act and its affiliates require that If you are an "International Filmmaker Student" who is applying to the program, you need to be the Producer, Director, or Owner of the "whole content" or film that is being submitted. You can NOT apply for somebody also. The International Filmmaker Student only qualifies if He/She is still active during School, College, or University. We reserve the right to ask proof of active student.
21. *VERY IMPORTANT*
The Blacksmith Cinema Act and its affiliates apply and follow the same standards and regulations of International Film Operations. You can check the General Operation Rules and Voting Rules & Standards on the main website on www.internationalfilmoperations.com/rules
22. *VERY IMPORTANT*
The Blacksmith Cinema Act and its affiliates receive short films only with specified regulations based on the program; your short film can only qualify for the categories of MICRO SHORTS and STANDARD SHORTS. If your short film is longer then the categories specified, your short film WILL NOT qualify for the program. MICRO SHORTS 1 - 5 Minutes Length
STANDARD SHORTS 6 - 10 Minutes Length
23. The Blacksmith Cinema Act and its affiliates reserve the right to choose the modifications of grants, discounts, perks, prizes, awards, payments, or any other action to accommodate or select the International Filmmaker or Student’s film.
24. By you applying or submitting to the program The Blacksmith Cinema Act, you acknowledged to AGREE all rules, standards, and regulations.
