FAQs

Can I submit my film with other festivals if I submitted with iFo?

Yes, you can submit your film in other festivals if you submitted with iFo. We encourage filmmakers to submit their short films at many festivals for more opportunities and networking.

How and when do I know if my film was selected?

IFO will send you an email to let you know if your film was qualified, selected, or awarded during the competition. The results might take days or even weeks as participants and judges are reviewing and qualifying your film.

Can I use copyrighted or trademarked material in my film?

iF0 will not be responsible for any involvement of unsettled trademarked or copyrighted materials in your project. It is the sole responsibility of the entity submitting the project to secure permission from the trademark or copyright holders of the material in question, whether it is music, stock footage, or any other elements that could violate an existing trademark or copyright.

Do I require to have a trailer and poster with my film?

It is not required to have a trailer or poster with your film, however it's strongly recommended promotional purposes throughout the festival. Furthermore, Trailers and Posters are a part of our quarterly competition.

Why does iF0 allow participants to review and vote for Micro Short and Standard Short films?

iF0 is committed to implementing the most unbiased voting strategies. While there may be some benefit in selecting specific judges for the voting processes, we believe that allowing ‘The People’ to control the majority vote is best. We believe that Peer Voting establishes equipotent opportunity (equal in power, ability, and effect). As an organization who promotes the advancement of young and upcoming independent filmmakers, we also believe the peer review method will likely allow and promote active learning opportunities.

What is the video format standard requirement to submit my film?

Your films must be submitted in full high definition or higher. iF0 requires your film to be submitted at FILMFREEWAY.
